Team Groove Commerce will once again be attending and exhibiting at the Internet Retailer Web Design and Usability Conference (IRWD), which is being hosted this year in Orlando, FL. Out of the many tradeshows that we participate in annually, IRWD tends to standout as one of our favorites since it usually hosts a smaller, more engaged crowd. That said, what are we extra excited about this year?
Theme
This year’s show will focus on designing a site that specifically hits your target audience. Understanding your target audience and designing a web experience that quickly engages them and reflects a strong brand personality is surely a recipe for a unique and engaging shopping experience. And now more than ever, in an age when eCommerce competition is becoming more sophisticated and aggressive, it seems that delivering this ‘tailored’ shopping experience isn’t just a “good-to-have” element for a site, it’s a “must-have”.
Sessions
This year, one entire day is being devoted to the topic of increasing organic rankings. Out of the session line up, one in particular caught our eye: When is your Site Over-Optimized for Search Engines? It should prove to be a refreshing look at SEO because it reflects a disturbing new trend: designing for search engines instead of users. What steps should Web Teams take to ensure that a customers shopping experience is not compromised at the expense of website ‘crawlability’? Where exactly lays the middle ground? These questions and more should be discussed and we’re pumped.
Among the expert speakers selected to lead session is Groove’s own CEO & Founder, Ethan Giffin. Ethan will be providing the ever-popular live site review session titled: How Does your Site Measure Up to the Best?. Live site reviews allow attendees to volunteer their ecommerce site to be examined in front of the audience, This session leverages humor and fun to bring out each site’s potential missed opportunities.
Consultations
The consultations offered at IRWD are one of the most exciting and unique elements of this conference. The ability for online merchants to sit down and have one-on-one discussions with the foremost experts in eCommerce web design fosters an engaging and informative experience. Attendees who take part in this should return to their jobs with a list of actionable items that are sure to help increase any of the key metrics involved with online revenue.
Ethan and VP, Mack McGee are looking forward to providing over 50 consultations this year. Stop by the booth to get in on the action.
Networking
It’s no secret that those in the eCommerce industry don’t shy away from a party; this year, the networking events and cocktail parties surely wont disappoint. Having the opportunity to put down the name badge and connect with people in a casual atmosphere is one of the best parts of the conference. This is where industry experts can learn from each other and get to know more about one another’s businesses. It is also where attendees can have unsolicited discussions and create connections that will last beyond the 3 day conference. Our team is particularly excited to interact with all of the attendees while enjoying great music, food, and maybe even a few drinks!
See you there!
