I just landed back in Baltimore after an exciting three days in sunny San Jose, California for Search Engine Strategies 2007. I have to say, it was well worth the jet lag… Some great sessions, some great people and some great parties all rounded out what seemed like a record crowd for what I think was my 10th SES show.
I was able to sit in on some great sessions around increasing your online conversion and the topic of paid links (more on this later). I was also able to sit down with some old friends and mentors who wanted to know more about what Groove Commerce has to offer. Topping it all off with a trip to the GooglePlex for the Google Dance 2007.
Some of the highlights include:
- Staying at the wonderful Fairmont, which seemed to be the hotel of choice for all of the old schoolers.
- Great conversations with Bryan Eisenberg, Lee Odden, Joe Morin, Frank Watson aka Aussie Webmaster, Mike Grehan and many more people who I can’t name.
- Lunch at the Sphinn meetup with Danny Sullivan.
- Getting yelled out for not blogging more by Bryan Eisenberg.
- Getting thrown out of Joe Morin’s poolside suite for being too loud.
- Being told over and over that I should have started Groove Commerce years ago.
Here is the view of beautiful San Jose as caught by my iPhone

I picked up some great tips, tricks and hints on things to come. More updates to follow.
